Building Description: An article from the FFKR Architects firm describes the structure as: “The building has a circular seating plan which surrounds the rectangular playing floor. This diagram provided the greatest number of seats with the best and most uniform sight lines while eliminating the need for turning in one’s seat to view the event. The building is resolved into three basic, clearly definable, elements: the seating bowl with its dome roof, the concourse, and the administrative facilities placed concentrically on the outside permitter. Pedestrian ramps are not needed nor are escalators required. Exiting a full house takes five minutes because the design allows for simple, direct spectator movement from the area to the exterior.”1
